The media in this country has decided that it's job is to report to the public... not to educate the public. Thus, if Senator Smith "says" he stands for a certain cause, that is what they will report. (And that is what the public will come to believe.) The fact that Senator Smith's voting record shows that he consistently voted against that cause at every opportunity is oftentimes NOT reported on!  That means that unless someone brings Senator Smith's voting record to light, revealing his true stance and intentions to the public... well, we've all seen what happens - more than once. It is ever so important that we utilize the media to educate the public. It is only then that we may begin holding our officials accountable for their actions.
